Overview
Is Facial Fat Grafting
Right for Me?
Facial fat grafting uses your own fat to restore volume where it has been lost, creating softer, more youthful contours while preserving the natural character of your face.
Common Concerns
- Loss of cheek volume
- Under-eye hollowness
- Deep nasolabial folds or marionette lines
- Hollow temples
- A face that appears thinner or aged
- Loss of facial support

More Than Volume
Restore & Balance
Fat can be carefully placed in the temples, cheeks, under-eye area, and other areas where volume has diminished to restore facial balance and create a refreshed, natural appearance.
Patients may also notice improvements in skin texture and quality after fat grafting. Grafted fat contains cells and signaling factors that may contribute to changes in the overlying skin.

YOUR OPTIONS
Choosing the Right Approach to Facial Volume
Fat grafting and injectable treatments don't have to be an either/or decision. The right approach depends on how much volume has been lost and your goals for treatment.
Recovery
Planning for Your Recovery
Only a small amount of liposuction is needed to harvest fat for facial grafting. If fat grafting is combined with more extensive liposuction or body contouring, your recovery may be different.

- Social
- Going out socially: About 1–2 weeks

- Swimming/soaking: 4 weeks
- Elective travel: 4 weeks
- Makeup
- Makeup: A few days
- Makeup can usually be resumed once the small facial injection sites have healed.
- Results
- As swelling resolves and the transferred fat settles, your final facial contours gradually develop over the following months.
