Overview
Is Blepharoplasty
Right for Me?
Upper and lower blepharoplasty can help restore a more open, refreshed appearance while preserving the natural shape and character of your eyes. The eyes are one of the first areas of the face to show signs of aging.
Common Concerns
- Heavy or hooded upper eyelids
- Excess upper eyelid skin
- Under-eye bags or puffiness
- Under-eye hollowness
- Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes

YOUR OPTIONS
Choosing the Right Treatment
Because the area around the eyes is complex, the best result often comes from understanding whether the concern is caused by excess skin, prominent fat, volume loss, skin quality, or a combination of these.
Heavy or Hooded Upper Eyelids
Upper Blepharoplasty
Removes excess upper eyelid skin. The incision is carefully placed within the natural eyelid crease, where the scar is well concealed.
Removes prominent fat that contributes to under-eye bags. A transconjunctival approach places the incision inside the lower eyelid, avoiding a visible scar.
Fat grafting, filler, or PRF can restore volume where it has been lost and improve the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek.
Laser resurfacing, microneedling, or a chemical peel can improve the quality of the delicate skin around the eyes.

Recovery
Planning for Your Recovery
Swelling and bruising may occur after blepharoplasty and are typically most noticeable during the first several days. Most patients experience relatively little discomfort, although the eyes may feel tight, dry, or irritated for a few days.

- Return to work: A few days
- Swelling or bruising may remain visible: 1–2 weeks
