Behind Aesthology

Dr. Whitney Florin is a cosmetic surgeon and the founder of Aesthology. Known for her thoughtful approach, attention to detail, and commitment to natural-looking results, she is passionate about helping patients feel confident, supported, and empowered throughout their aesthetic journey.

As a third-generation surgeon, Dr. Florin has always been drawn to the blend of artistry, technical skill, and problem-solving that surgery requires. She enjoys the challenges of surgery, the responsibility of caring for patients, and the trust they place in her throughout their journey. For Dr. Florin, however, the most rewarding part of her work has always been the relationships she builds with her patients.

She believes aesthetic medicine and surgery are built on trust. From the first consultation through recovery and beyond, Dr. Florin values taking the time to educate patients, answer questions honestly, and develop personalized treatment plans that align with each individual's goals. Seeing a patient's confidence grow throughout that journey is what continues to inspire her every day.

Dr. Florin's practice naturally focuses on women, who make up the vast majority of her patients. She considers it a privilege to care for women through many of life's transitions, including motherhood and postpartum changes, weight loss, and aging.

She believes there is no single definition of beauty and that the best treatment plans begin with understanding the individual. By listening to each patient's goals, she helps create a personalized plan that feels right for them.

Dr. Florin graduated with highest honors from Duke University before earning her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed extensive surgical training and advanced fellowship training in cosmetic surgery, bringing the same drive for excellence and lifelong learning to her practice today.

She currently serves as a leader within the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and remains actively involved in advancing educational opportunities and improving patient outcomes within the specialty.

At Aesthology, Dr. Florin has built the kind of practice she would want for herself, her family, and her closest friends, one centered on trust, expertise, personalized care, and long-term relationships. Her philosophy is simple: do good, and the rest will come. Ashlee Shapiro, PA-C brings more than a decade of experience in primary care, weight management, and patient-centered medicine to Aesthology. Known for her thoughtful, supportive approach and attention to detail, Ashlee is passionate about helping patients improve their health, confidence, and overall quality of life.

While Ashlee initially joined Aesthology to support the practice during a maternity leave, she quickly discovered a passion for aesthetic medicine. She enjoys helping patients achieve healthy, natural-looking results through treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels, laser treatments, and skin rejuvenation procedures.

What became clear, however, was that Ashlee could never view aesthetic treatments in isolation. A simple skincare consultation often evolved into a broader conversation about health, wellness, nutrition, hormones, weight management, or underlying medical concerns. Her natural instinct has always been to look beyond the immediate concern and consider the whole patient.

That philosophy ultimately helped shape Aesthology's Wellness Program. Today, Ashlee leads many of the practice's wellness services, including weight management, hormone optimization, women's health, men's health, and health optimization programs. She works closely with Dr. Whitney Florin to provide comprehensive, physician-led care focused on helping patients feel their best inside and out.
